Complex Care

Every Calgary Medicare Walk-in Clinics has staff available to fill the role of a health coach for complex patients. Patients that suffer from chronic conditions and illness can often find benefit from being guided by a health care professional. With this education, a patient may be able to identify their health concerns better and in some cases address them. The end goal is to provide our patients with additional tools to help manage their long-term illness or condition. Health coaching can utilize goal setting, identification of obstacles, and use of personal support systems.

Our doctors can often help administer and suggest avenues of treatment for patients whose chronic health conditions require the attention and delivery of a complex care program.

Cancer Screening

We provide cancer screening services and testing for our patients at their request,or we can recommend screening when there is potential for cancer to manifest. Your physician can employ many methods for screening cancer. We may direct you to provide samples (blood, urine, stool, biopsy, etc.) for laboratory testing. Diagnostic imaging can help determine the presence of cancer. Medicare Walk-in Clinic can provide you with referrals to a specific specialty to aid in the management of your health.

Cancer is more easily dealt with when it is diagnosed and caught early so treatment can begin immediately. We can provide you the information necessary for administering self-exams for some types of cancer. However, the best prevention is by living a healthy lifestyle to lower or eliminate any factors that may increase your risk. A thorough medical exam remains the cornerstone of realizing better health. We invite you to book a consultation session with one of our doctors to discuss your medical concerns.
